About

The Greater Little Rock Council of Garden Clubs Thirteenth Annual Spring Garden Tour will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday, June 2, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The tour theme is “Urban Delights – Practical Gardening in the City” featuring 8 private gardens and 4 public gardens as points of interest located in the central/mid-town areas of Little Rock.  It will highlight growing vegetables and herbs in combination with conventional landscaping in an urban setting.

Linda Haycook, event chairman, explains the choice for this year’s theme: “With the current resurgence of home grown produce, we wanted to give attendees the opportunity to see a variety of gardens that beautifully combine vegetables and herbs in traditional urban landscapes. Our hope is that visitors will come away with lots of ideas and inspiration for incorporating practical gardening in their own urban gardens.”

Tickets will be available for purchase beginning April 6, 2013 at several locations around Little Rock. Tickets will be $20.00 in advance or $25.00 the days of the tour. Tickets include information about individual gardens on the tour as well as a map and directions to each location and must be presented at each garden for admittance. Attendees will be able to tour the gardens at their leisure during event hours on June 1st and 2nd. Tour representatives and Master Gardeners will be available at each location to answer questions and provide additional details about the gardens.

The Spring Garden Tour serves as the primary fundraising event each year for the Greater Little Rock Council of Garden Clubs, which includes 16 garden clubs in Little Rock and North Little Rock.  The tour fulfills our mission of education and promotion of public and private gardens in the Little Rock area.
