A Quick Word About The Weather…

The forecast shows a possibility of scattered showers early tomorrow and possible strong storms in the afternoon. The Spring Garden Tour will take place rain or shine. Only in the event of severe weather, will we close for everyone’s safety. Hopefully, tomorrow will have more dry than rain, and Sunday looks like it will be a beautiful day. Remember, your tickets are good for both days. So if weather prevents you from visiting all the gardens tomorrow, there’s still plenty of time to visit any or all of the gardens on Sunday. See you this weekend!

Tour Dates Announced!

The Greater Little Rock Council of Garden Clubs Thirteenth Annual Spring Garden Tour will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The tour theme is “Urban Delights – Practical Gardening in the City” featuring 8 private gardens and 4 public gardens as points of interest located in the central/mid-town areas of Little Rock.  It will highlight growing vegetables and herbs in combination with conventional landscaping in an urban setting.

Linda Haycook, event chairman, explains the choice for this year’s theme: “With the current resurgence of home grown produce, we wanted to give attendees the opportunity to see a variety of gardens that beautifully combine vegetables and herbs in traditional urban landscapes. Our hope is that visitors will come away with lots of ideas and inspiration for incorporating practical gardening in their own urban gardens.”

Tickets will be available for purchase beginning April 6, 2013 at several locations around Little Rock. Tickets will be $20.00 in advance or $25.00 the days of the tour.
